A cleaning or landscaping company markets to homes listed for sale by mailing them the week they list, when the house has to look its best for showings and the move-out clean is already on the calendar. PreMovers.ca supplies that list for any city or postal area, updated every week, from $150 per 1,000 homes.
The short version
A home for sale needs to look good for showings now, and it needs a move-out clean and a tidy yard on closing day. A pre-mover list reaches the household at the start of that, with the address and nothing else to look up.
Most cleaning and landscaping marketing is flyers to whole neighbourhoods, which is cheap per piece and expensive per job because almost nobody on the street needs you this month. A home that has just been listed does. The seller has a reason to call, a deadline, and a budget that was set the day the listing agent walked through.
Take your territory, not the city. Choose the postal areas you actually drive to, or a radius around your own postal code. A landscaper working three suburbs might mail 150 to 300 homes a week.
Mail the week they list. Showing-ready cleans, window washing, lawn and bed clean-ups sell in the first two weeks of a listing. Choose new listings and keep the window short.
Mail again when they come off the market. The move-out clean and the final yard tidy happen after the home comes off the market. The off-market list for the same areas is the second touch, and the new owner on the way is a possible recurring customer.
Keep the piece simple. Pre-sale clean, move-out clean, same-week availability, a price. The household already knows it needs the service.
One record per home with the street address, unit, city, province and postal code, checked against Canada Post address data. A Plus list adds the date it came on the market, its status, the asking price, bedrooms, bathrooms, floor size and the type of home, so a landscaper can leave out apartments and a cleaner can price by size before the call.
No names, phone numbers or emails. Address the piece to "The Homeowner".
Standard lists are $150 per 1,000 homes, Plus lists with the home details are $250 per 1,000, and the minimum order is $75 (500 homes). Licensed for one mailing by your business and delivered as a CSV ready for your printer or Canada Post.
Mailable homes by province and city, updated every week. Tell us the areas you serve and we send the count and a sample file the same day.
Lists by city and province Get a count →Yes. A listed home needs a showing-ready clean at the start and a move-out clean at the end, and most listing agents tell sellers to book both. The seller just has not chosen who yet. A piece of mail the week the home lists is how a local company becomes the one they call.
Choose House rather than Apartment when you build the list, or buy a Plus list and filter by type of home and floor size yourself. Homes where the type is not given can be kept in or left out; nothing is guessed.
From PreMovers.ca. Pick a province, city, postal area or a radius around your own postal code, see the count, and the list comes as a CSV ready for your printer or Canada Post. Standard lists are $150 per 1,000 homes, Plus lists with the home details are $250 per 1,000, and the minimum order is $75 (500 homes). Online ordering is coming; until it opens, send us your areas and we return the count and a sample file.
Updated every week. A home that goes up for sale this week is in next week's list, with the week it came on the market shown on every record.
The lists carry addresses only, no names, phone numbers or emails, so there is no personal information in them. Mailers address the piece to "The Homeowner" or "Current Resident". Canada's anti-spam law covers email and text messages, not paper mail. Your mail piece itself has to follow the ordinary advertising rules, as any flyer does.
